They warn you not to eat

what is offered–

glistening fruit and bloody meat

sugared petals in cups of honey wine

nectar and gristle

nettle and brittle–

but why else did you come here

if not to bite into the heart of fairyland?

And if fairyland bites back,

Wouldn’t you rather taste

delicious?

Food in Fairyland
